Lester Prairie Sportsmen's Club
The Lester Prairie Sportsmen’s Club was organized in the late 1960′s by a group of local outdoor enthusiasts. Over the years it has grown from a small clubhouse and one trap, to a large clubhouse and five automatic PAT trap fields. The club is open for trapshooting on Wednesday evenings (6:00 -9:00 pm) from mid-April until early-September. Anyone is welcome to come and shoot, but shells must be purchased for a small fee.
Five Trap Houses, Five Stations
Leading your target
The above picture is what's called the Wall Chart. The Wall Chart helps us better understand and will give us a rough perspective on where to lead our target in order to execute the perfect shot. The Wall Chart is available in different sizes and can be obtained by contacting Josh Kroells. Contact Us.
Or simply by asking him at our next meet!
At each station there are five shooters which shoot one at a time, starting with the Squad Leader, then continues down the line. First, the Squad Leader asks if the shooters, the scorer, and the puller are ready, then it's time to start shooting! The team practices safety measures full time during shooting, including: having only ONE shell ready to put in the gun when it is their turn, proper stance, minimal conversation in order to stay focused, and making sure their gun is upright and controlled when rotating stations.
